When I get tired of the left and right hyper tint, I can always trust the business news for an unbiased reporting of the facts. If a business reporter is a hack, they do not last long.

The Chicago crime problem has been all over the national news and they have even brought up the fact that Chicago had a total handgun ban. What the media does is get people on there who blame the problem on Chicago's close proximity to Wisconsin and Indiana where handguns are easy to get.
Today I wanted to comment on something I saw in the news. Someone on Fox was talking about media bias in the Dorner murder case. They were commenting about how Dorner, a left winger who loves CNN and Ellen Degeneres (by his own admission), has been shown by the national media in his military outfits with a nice smile as if they are trying to make him look like a good guy fighting evil. On the other hand, there were just as many pictures available of Tim McVeigh but the one the media almost always used was that one where he is in orange with that thousand yard stare in his eyes.
Is the media trying to make Dorner look like a nice guy? A service man with a smile who is fighting a system that screws people over? It was just a interesting conversation on Fox News, I thought it made sense.

The news media only reports on stories they want you to know about. And when they do report on something else its always biased.
They wont touch Chicago and all the killings and they have the strictest gun laws in the US

I think it was the CBS news director saying Obama should take this opportunity to destroy Republicans. That's unbiased?

Are tv news programs too biased?
Yes. That's part of the problem. But the way the news is delivered to us is antagonistic. Every guest is angry and when there are more than one point of view being expressed they talk over each other and get louder and louder. It's just simply upsetting and depressing. It just adds to the noise in this country and doesn't do ANY good.

How about Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC editing a Mitt Romney piece to deliberately make him look clueless on technology, when the unedited version was plainly the exact opposite.
On the other hand, you can't really call MSNBC a news channel. The only good thing is no one watches it.

Absolutely, this whole Zimmerman thing has gone way too far. I live in a city where black kids get shot on a regular basis, and while about 80 percent of them are up to no good once in awhile a innocent one gets hit, the latest was only 3 years old and was killed while playing in his own yard. All this goes on and the media gives it a little lip service, it might be in the paper for a day or two but basically nobody cares, the local NAACP has nothing to say about it and neither does anybody else. I suspect it is the same all over the country. Black on black, same crap different day.
However, any time a white person (or in this case a half white person) does something questionable to a black person the media gets all over it, Sharpton crawls out of his hole, along with Jesse Jackson and all the rest. It is just the race baiting media, they wont be happy until a few Florida cities are up in flames, getting torn apart by looters (black of course), then they will blame that on Zimmerman as well.

Absolutely,,, They should be fined big time for trying to lynch Zimmerman. NBC fired the producer on Thursday. The Media Frenzy attempts to write the news not report it... I trust FOX more than the rest.

[L=http://news.yahoo.com/text deleted Calls Lawrence O‘Donnell’s MSNBC ‘Lean Forward’ Ad ‘Mostly False’[/L]
*Snippet: "One of the latest ads in the network's "Lean Forward" campaign, a string of overtly partisan rants from primetime hosts, has Last Word anchor Lawrence O'Donnell making the case for the G I bill as “the most successful educational program that we’ve ever had in this country” which O'Donnell claims was criticized by opponents as welfare. Politifact analysis has determined O'Donnell's statement to be 'mostly false.'"

Media bias: A tale of two stories proof of bias.
NBC: Republicans 'Quick to Lash Out' at Obama Budget snippet: "In an attempt to frame Republican opposition to the President's 2013 budget proposal as merely political posturing, NBC Today co-host Ann Curry announced to viewers on Tuesday: "President Obama unveiled his new budget plan on Monday and with this being an election year, his Republican rivals were quick to lash out in opposition."

"BBC America" Is also far left.
Fox News Channel's hard news programs are fair and balanced.
Of course the commentary programs are slanted to the right, but they seem to have the opposing view point presented at the same time. Watch what is being said on MSNBC and CNN. See how they endlessly attack the right. Then ask yourself if you are watching news or gossip. To attack the person is not newsworthy. Attack what the other party is saying and show how it is wrong and not going to solve the problem at hand, but don't endlessly try to destroy the person. Look at how they handle Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman, and ask yourself if that is newsworthy, or is it character assassination? How about Rachel Maddow, being sued. /3md925f And now there is Rev. Sharton, Here, /3dlfoj6

I am not sure if they are that biased, some no doubt are. But I can say for sure that they are sensationalists. Every story is big. They embellish the heck out of them, and then don't get half the facts straight. I really love it when they are going to a report on something we need to know or that cna hurt us, but we have to wait until the news comes on in their time slot. If something is that important to know, I'd like to find out about it when it happpens, not wait for news time. But then agian, most of the time it is something they reported on before and was really not that big a deal.

I stopped listening to US news quite a while back. A commentator somewhere calls it Junk News.
Watch closely to the time spent on indepth news of any sort. Almost none. They're forcing us to think we want to hear about celebrities. I do not.
So I moved over to BBCAmerica and found what really is going on in the world. Then WOW removed it. Then my son said it showed up on another channel far far away on the channels but only 5 days a week. I still haven't gotten into the grove of where and when.
I used to like Keith Oberman. Don't know where he went. Now its Rachel Maddow who tells it like it is it seems.

Of course the main stream media is biased. The problem is not so much with what they say, but what they choose to leave out. There are crimes of omission and comission.

Find a TV show that doesn't exalt homosexuality and shows that sex outside of marriage is something wonderful, and seldom if ever mentions the dangers involved. Then the role model of the cheating father is often presented as funny, certainly nothing that by any means would harm the family unit. The fact is that there are few, if any current dad's that are presented on TV as a model of morality, and that's sad.

I recently started getting my news from sources other than my favorites just to see what the "other guys" are saying. While frustrating at times, it does seem like a good idea, one that I'll try to keep doing. I'll also watch my local news from 2 different sources but don't bother with the "nightly news anchors". I'll watch cable news and I like the BBC & BBC America to see what others say about US
